- Make it part of the morning routine. The odds of getting around to any new health regimen decrease as the day wears on.
- Few, if any children find the taste of Omega Cure objectionable. But the sensation of drinking oil is new for most children–and their parents. That’s where mixing comes in.
*The most popular “drinking” tip is adding a splash of juice to a shot glass of OC. Just measure out your child’s daily dose, add an ounce or so of their favorite juice, clink glasses enthusiastically and…..“Down the hatch.” Or, as we say in Norway, “Skål!” This is the surest way to get the dosage taken in full.
*Almost as popular, especially with kids, is mixing their daily OC in with yogurt or applesauce. It can also be drizzled on top of oatmeal, pancakes, or even toast. Just make sure that whatever you put it on gets eaten entirely; otherwise they won’t be getting the OC they need.
*If you decide to make OC part of your evening routine (or if you’re playing catch-up from the morning) Omega Cure can be drizzled on top of sautéed vegetables, baked potatoes, or mixed in with fresh vinaigrette dressing.
- As with all new routines, a little psychology goes a long way. Some parents have found that giving kids a choice of when and where to take their Omega Cure– in a smoothie or in the tablets? On cinnamon toast or straight? – helps involve them in the process: Others find it’s so easy to hide OC, they’re better off just “slipping it in.” Only you know what’s best for you and your child.
- Just remember, that whatever you use–shot glass, spoon, blender–to serve OC, will need to be washed in warm soapy water within the hour. If you leave a residue of fish oil around, the oxygenation process will soon provide a not-so-gentle reminder of the source.
